DP World Maputo

In 2006 DP World acquired P&O and in 2008 MIPS was renamed to DP World Maputo 

DP World Maputo has the concession to manage, develop and operate the Maputo container terminal until 2043.

The Maputo Container Terminal in the Port of Maputo is strategically located between industrial areas of Southern Africa and major economic and industrialized regions of Eastern and Southern Asia.


In addition to being a safe terminal, DP World Maputo Container Terminal is also a secure Terminal, having been proudly certified for ISO28000 in February 2011, which is the International Supply Chain Security Standard, as the first company with this certification in Mozambique.


In the past 2 years the DP World Maputo has been undergoing substantial development works. The initial phase consisting of refurbishment of 10 Ha of existing yard pavement.

Currently 5Ha of additional new yard pavement and a new rail siding of 4 tracks each of 375m length are under construction ... The completion of the current construction phase terminal capacity will increase to 200,000 TEU per year.
